Thursday, April 21, 2016 - Stream Observations

General Information

Weather Conditions
  • Mostly sunny/partly cloudy
  • Ambient temperature was approximately 72 °F
  • Winds of 13 mph
  • No precipitation observed throughout the day
Water Quality Observations
  • Low turbidity observed, stream was clear
  • Some debris and trash present
  • Some oil observed downstream at culvert
Stream Stage
  • Water level at 10 cm mark 
  • Approximate stage behind weir was 31 cm (1.02 ft) 
Stream Discharge
  • From stage observations, estimated flow was 4.6 cfs 
Other Observations
  • Both storm sewer outfalls were dry
  • Conditions very similar to those observed the previous day 
LEWAS Data 
  • Flow rates shown are less than flow estimated from stage behind weir, a possible result of calibration error
  • Flow rate trend is decreasing over time, a possible result of sustained dry weather and evaporation
  • Low turbidity corresponds with observations
  • Sharp turbidity increase on April 19 in the evening, returned back to normal by the 20th and remained normal throughout the 21st.
