General Information
- Date: Tuesday, April 19, 2016
- Time: 12:05 PM
Weather Conditions
- Generally clear and sunny with a light breeze.
- Ambient temperature was approximately 77 °F.
- No precipitation observed throughout the day.
Water Quality Observations
- Stream was clear with very low turbidity.
- Small amounts of trash and brush were observed in the stream as well as along the stream bank.
Stream Stage
- Water level was at the 10-cm mark on the measuring stick inside the culvert. The approximate stage behind the weir was 31 cm (1.02 ft).
Stream Discharge
- From the stage observations, the estimated flow rate was 4.6 cfs.
Other Observations
- Both storm sewer outfalls near the LEWAS station were dry.
- The female duck was spotted again today swimming around the LEWAS station. As she searched for food, she moved the sand and pebbles at the bottom of then stream. As a result, this temporarily increased the turbidity of the water downstream from the LEWAS station.
- Overall, the conditions were almost identical to those observed yesterday.
LEWAS Data
- Peak water temperature appears to be increasing in response to the increasing ambient temperature.
- Recent drop in flow rate might be attributable to increased temperatures and evaporation.
- The random spike in turbidity (at approximately 19.3 days) could have been caused by wildlife or human interference.
